The Swiss trio 60 Miles did not take its name from a decade surely rich in jazz, nor from a certain trumpeter with an emblematic silhouette (among others). But… But it’s certainly jazz that 60 Miles propose. In our day, does jazz still exist that refers only to itself and is nourished only by its own tradition?60 Miles chooses to create its own music, inspired as much by Charlie Parker, Keith Jarrett, or Avishai Cohen as by Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, or Beethoven. A music formed in the great tradition of the trio, but without the usual codes.
On the road since 2015, 60 Miles has criss-crossed Europe, China, Japan, Brazil, and Argentina. Currently, the trio presents its fourth disc entitled Ice Scream. At a time when the Western world is finally becoming aware of the climate catastrophe it has generated, is it still possible to reverse the situation? Can we concretely change something on our scale? And does music have any role to play in that?To these questions, the three musicians Nicolas Gerber (piano), André Hahne (bass), and Luigi Galati (drums) can only provide the answer of poetry and creativity. But maybe we should start there?

Jazz pianist and rock keyboardist Nicolas Gerber is involved in various projects as both a leader and a sideman. Currently, he is particularly active with 60 Miles, a jazz trio that has toured multiple continents, and KKAAN, an alternative pop-rock group with a distinct identity.
Over the years, he has developed a highly personal musical style, blending his passion for vintage keyboards with a love for rich sound. This unique style is best showcased in his own compositions, which combine complex rhythmic concepts with instantly accessible pop sounds.
His versatility has led him to collaborate with many renowned musicians, including Guillaume Perret, Samuel Blaser, Lionel Friedli, Simon Gerber, Sacha Love, and Carrousel. He has also participated in various musical shows, notably with filmmaker Pierre-Yves Borgeaud.

André Hahne : Bass

André Hahne 是德國和新西蘭混血的音樂家，目前居住並工作在瑞士。他以作曲家、貝斯手以及多個項目的創始人身份廣為人知，其中包括 No Square Quartet 和 60 Miles 三重奏。他曾帶領這些項目在全球巡演，發佈了多張專輯，並為戲劇和現代舞蹈作品創作音樂。

André Hahne is a German-New Zealand musician living and working in Switzerland. He is well known as a composer, bassist, and founder of various projects such as the No Square Quartet and the 60 Miles Trio. He has performed with these projects around the world, resulting in numerous CDs. He also creates music for theater productions and contemporary dance performances.
He is an excellent accompanist and a talented soloist, with a strong sense of melody. Recently, he has focused his research on polyrhythms. While the album The Man with the Horn by Miles Davis first introduced him to jazz during his student years, his recent influences include the music of Ambrose Akinmusire and Tigran Hamasyan.
He is also the director of the Nova Jazz label, which organizes concerts and the annual jazz festival in Yverdon-les-Bains.

Luigi Galati : Drums

Luigi Galati stands out for his creative, interactive, and nuanced drumming. Driven by a powerful sense of rhythm, he brings unexpected atmospheres to his musical language. His career has led him to accompany numerous renowned artists, including Thierry Lang, Flavio Boltro, Chico Freeman, Heiri Känzig, Mimmo Pisino, Daniel Perrin, Mathieu Michel, Lucien Dubuis, Samuel Blaser, and Simon Gerber.
He has performed at diverse venues and festivals, such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Festi’neuch, Schaffhausen Jazz Festival, Swing in the Wind, and Auvernier Jazz. His work spans a range of genres, from big band to small jazz ensembles, pop, funk, Latin music, and musical theater.
